We Love Dr. Lanpher because.....

Testimonials!

Ear Infection Help

Dr. Lanpher helped our 2 year old son when he had double ear infections that were constant. We were worried we would have to put tubes in his ears and that he would struggle with this problem long term. But luckily, my mother-in-law who has been a patient of Dr. Lanpher's for many years talked to my husband and I and gave us an informational pamphlet on how Chiropractic can help with ear infections. We took our son in to get adjusted and after just a few adjustments he had no more ear infections and did not have to get tubes put in his ears. We are very thankful that Dr. Lanpher helped our son.

Experiences with Dr. Lanpher

The experiences I have had with Dr. Lanpher so far have been great. If I have any problem, as far as I'm feeling, I make an appointment. I have had appointments for things like being more tired than usual, headaches, neck and back pain, and even dizziness/vertigo. Every time, no matter what the problem, he always find a way to turn things around.

Testimonial on Colic Relief through Chiropractic
I took my 4 wk old daughter to Dr. Lanpher to be treated for reflux. Dr. Lanpher took the time to explain to me why infants have reflux, and how these treatments will help. After just one adjustment, I noticed a huge difference. She was sleeping, had less gas, and best of all her colic was significantly better. She's 11 weeks now, and still goes for her regular adjustments.

                  New to Chiropractic
Two years prior to my first Chiropractic treatment, I had major surgery that caused me to have terribly sharp pains in my right hip. Having never been adjusted before or gone under the knife before, I assumed I simply had to live with this pain that made it almost unbearable to sit down. Dr. Lanpher assessed my pain and examined my spine and found that my right hip was simply out of place. He adjusted it and the pain went away! It came back a few days later because my hip had again gotten out of place, but he adjusted it again and the pain went away again! He then examined my feet to make sure they weren't feeding into my hip problem, and found out that I had fallen arches. This was putting stress on my whole right leg and then I was walking abnormally due to the pain and tension, which finally led to my hip going out of place again! My life was literally changed by those first few adjustments and my first pair of arch supports, which kept me inline from the feet up. I was able to sit and stand with out any pain!

Pregnancy Joy
I had been unable to get pregnant for 5 years. My husband and I hit a deer with our vehicle on July 16th. I then started Chiropractic treatments on July 17th at Lanpher Chiropractic Clinic. My low back was mainly adjusted in those first few visits. On August 21st, I had an appointment scheduled with a reproductive endocrinologist, as how to go about my fertility treatment. In order to start the medication that my doctor wanted me to take I was required to take a pregnancy test, and on September 6th, 2009, that test came back positive! I WAS PREGNANT!! The only explanation was that the adjustments that I had been getting on my low back from the motor vehicle accident had actually helped me get pregnant. When I told the staff at Lanpher Chiropractic, we looked at the calendar, and the first treatments I had received were one week before my husband and I conceived our very first baby! That was no coincidence to either of us. Thank you so much to everyone at Lanpher Chiropractic Clinic.

                                              Freedom from Yeast
I have been a patient of Dr. Lanpher's for many years, and had contracted a terrible yeast infection. I wasn't sure if the doctor could help me, but after some discussion he suggested a restricted eating plan for a few weeks and some natural supplements such as Acidophilus DDS for probiotic treatment, and my yeast infection went away! I was so miserable and in constant discomfort as any woman could attest to when having a yeast infection, and Dr Lanpher helped me naturally.

Dizziness and Lightheadedness
Dr. Lanpher has helped me so much! All summer I suffered with lightheadedness and dizziness, and Dr. Lanpher treated me by adjusting my neck and doing the Epley's Maneuver on me. My head is now "normal" again. A few years ago my hand was so numb that I could hardly use it. Getting treatments from Dr. Lanpher made me well again. And I'm sure by continuing to take treatments I won't have to face back surgery, which is great because my goal has always been "no surgery and no drugs".

Best Kept Secret in Sioux Falls
Hi this is Colleen Wolf. I was seeing another chiropractor when I found out about Dr. Lanpher back in June of 2011. I was doing ok with the other chiropractor but I was not greatly impressed with the results I was getting. I wanted more out of my sessions than I was getting besides getting my neck adjusted, having exercises to do and E-stim, none of which was bad; it just seemed endless and boring and to be honest; not very effective.
I wanted more than adjustments to my neck and back; I was interested in the kinesiology side of things; I am open to homeopathic remedies and found Dr. Lanpher has knowledge and experience with unconventional methods that helped me tremendously. I told him he was the "best kept secret in SF" and I still believe it!
I had a run in with a deer in December and had several adjustments done during an 8 week period; the last of which was today! And I had no adjustments made because I didn't need any and I feel great! Thanks to Dr. Lanpher and his patient, kind and winning ways I will continue to see him on an as needed basis and recommend him to anyone who is tired of the mainstream chiropractic methods.

Vitamin Help
My son was diagnosed as having spinal meningitis at the age of 14 months. Dr. Lanpher gave my son chiropractic treatments and a specific regimen of vitamins to help him overcome the illness. The nurse and pediatrician could not believe how well he was doing, and they commented that whatever else we were doing we should keep it up because he was making dramatic improvements. The average white blood cell count of someone having spinal meningitis is around 10,000, and my son's white blood cell count was 40,000. He was a very sick little boy. Yet he survived with no side effects. I give thanks to Dr. Lanpher for all his wisdom to help my young son.

Free Vitamins?? Between the Meal and the Peel!

Vitamin P – Bioflavonoids

Lanpher Chiropractic Clinic

Bioflavonoids, also called vitamin P, are not strictly speaking a vitamin, but for easy classification, we are listing it as one. The term bioflavonoid refers to many different ingredients and includes hesperin, hesperidin, eriodictyol, quercetin, quercertrin, rutin, etc. This nutrient cannot be manufactured by the body and must be supplied in the diet.

Bioflavonoids are vital in their ability to increase the strength of the capillaries (blood vessels) and to regulate their permeability. They assist vitamin C in keeping collagen, the intercellular “cement” in healthy condition; are essential for the proper absorption and use of vitamin C; prevents vitamin C from being destroyed in the body by oxidation; beneficial in hypertension; help hemorrhages and ruptures in the capillaries and connective tissues and builds a protective barrier against infections. Quercetin is a very highly concentrated form of bioflavonoids derived from citrus fruits.

Bioflavonoids enhance the action of vitamin C and for this reason they should be taken together. Bioflavonoids are effectively used in the treatment of sport injuries, as they are pain relieving.  They may also be used in relieving pain in the legs and across the back, and can lessen the symptoms of prolonged bleeding, a low serum calcium, as well as oral herpes.

Bioflavonoids may also be active in preserving the structures of capillaries, have an antibacterial effect and promote circulation. They may be indicated in the production of bile, lowering blood cholesterol levels and in the prevention and treatment of cataracts.

Bioflavonoids are thought to enhance the absorption of vitamin C, and possibly to prolong the effectiveness of it as well. These are super active substances, and can add a great deal to your nutritional needs in health and disease.

This nutrient acts together with vitamin C to help maintain the thin walls of the capillaries, therefore preventing bleeding or bruising. Bioflavonoids have been linked to having an antibacterial effect. Stimulating bile production, promoting circulation and even assisting with fighting allergies, asthma, etc.

If a diet contains enough fruits and vegetables, bioflavonoids should not be deficient, but a deficiency would show up as bruising. Bioflavonoids could be of help in iron deficiency, as well as where antioxidants are indicated and none are present. Since it helps with the absorption of iron.

Bioflavonoids are found in the white material just beneath citrus peel, as well as in peppers, grapes, pine bark, onions, garlic, blue and red berries, green tea, as well as buckwheat.

Absorption of the bioflavonoids can be a bit slow. But small amounts can be stored in the body. If you are suffering from cold sores, consider taking a supplement of 1,000mg vitamin C and 1,000 mg of bioflavonoids, and then 500 mg of each, three times a day. A daily intake of vitamin C and bioflavonoids may make you less susceptible to cold sores.

Stress and Adrenal Fatigue

The Dis-Ease Called Stress

The things you think about and dwell on throughout your day have a direct effect on your stress levels, which regulate how much cortisol, or stress hormone, is produced in your body.

Along these lines, new research published in the journal Health Psychology has found that meditation  can help lower stress and cortisol levels, which in turn can help you lose excess weight and avoid developing "cortisol belly" or that excess weight around your middle.

Researchers from the University of California, Davis have been working on a long-term study known as The Shamatha Project that seeks to figure out how meditation practices influence brain activity and mental health. The Shamatha Project is said to be the most comprehensive study on meditation to date, having already made a number of fascinating discoveries about how the way we think and feel can be  influenced through meditation.

As far as stress and cortisol production are concerned, a team of researchers led by Clifford Saron, an associate research professor at UC Davis, found that cortisol levels rise and fall in direct correlation with stress levels. And when people engage in meditation practices such as the mindfulness of breathing, or observing their own mental states and nature of consciousness, their stress and cortisol levels decrease. This leads to greater feelings of joy, kindness, compassion, and empathy for others.

Easy ways you can incorporate these ideas in your everyday routine and life are: yoga, morning stretch routines where you notice how your body feels, taking time for yourself during the day (even if it's 5 minutes) and relaxing while practicing some deep breathing and simply focusing your thoughts on something positive such as a good talk with a friend, or the things you are grateful for in your life.

Adrenal Fatigue

The long-term release of cortisol in response to high stress levels can lead to a condition known as adrenal fatigue. This happens when the adrenal gland is no longer able to properly produce and release hormones due to the high demand. The health consequences of adrenal fatigue include lowered immune function, hypertension, high blood sugar, reduced libido, and bone loss among many other symptoms.

Along with the at-home therapies you can incorporate into your every day life as mentioned earlier, Chiropractic is your best bet to relieve stress on the body and mind. Your brain, spinal cord and all the resulting nerves control every action that happens in your entire body. Since your skull, spine and other joints protect that vital nervous system, a regular check-up is always a good idea. If you are suffering from adrenal fatigue or just adrenal stress, there are also supplements that can help detoxify your system and support your body getting back to a state of EASE instead of DIS-EASE.

With all the things demanding our time and attention, we are spread extremely thin. Stress seems like a normal part of our daily lives and it's hard to get around it.  That is why you need to take time to let your body re-set and let your friendly Chiropractor put your spine back in line!
